You’ve probably heard that you should reduce salt intake because it can cause blood clotting, which can lead high blood pressure and heart disease. But you don’t have to throw all of those salt out of the house because you still can use them as skin softener or even as drink cooler. More about it:
1. Drink cooler
You can use salt as champagne chiller, because salt can speeds the drop of water temperature. Place champagne bottle in an ice bucket with a layer of ice at the bottom, put a layer of coarse or table salt, repeat layering until the bucket is full.
2. Sinus remedy
Mix half cup of warm water with half teaspoon of non-iodized salt. Put the liquid into neti pot and pour it into one nostril. The liquid will flow out into other nostril. Repeat on the opposite side.
3. Stain buster
If your mug is stained with coffee or your wooden cutting board is dingy, make them shine again by sprinkle kosher salt and then scrub with sponge.
4. Skin softener
Make your skin soft by making natural salt scrub. Blend half cup of sea salt with one and half teaspoon of olive oil and 4 to 5 drops of lavender oil. Apply with a smooth stroke and then rinse.
