Symptoms of Asthma

Asthma is a condition where your airways narrow and swell, extra mucus will produce, so you will feel difficult to breath. The most common asthma symptoms are coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath. Asthma can be life threatening if you have a severe asthma attacks.

Asthma can’t be cured, but you can control it’s symptoms. The asthma treatments includes avoiding particular asthma triggers, using a long-term control medications, and using a quick-relief inhaler once they starts. You also have to talk to your doctor regularly about your asthma conditions.


Asthma signs and symptoms include:
1. Shortness of breath
2. Chest tightness or pain
3. Trouble sleeping caused by shortness of breath, coughing, or wheezing
4. And audible wheezing sound when exhaling
5. Coughing and wheezing that are worsened by a respiratory virus such as cold or flu

If your asthma is getting worse, you will have this symptoms:
1. More frequent and bothersome asthma symptoms
2. More difficult to breath
3. Need to use a quick-relief more frequent

Asthma attack can be triggered by this situation:
1. Exercise-induced asthma
Asthma will occurs during exercise. And the attacks could be worse when the air is cold and dry.
2. Occupational asthma
Asthma can attacks or worsened by workplace irritant, such as chemical fumes, gases, or even dust.
3. Allergy-induced asthma
Asthma symptoms can be triggered by particular allergens, such as pet, cockroaches, or pollen.

2. To monitor your asthma
3. If the symptoms are getting worse
4. To review your treatment

You should seek emergency treatment if:
1. Rapid worsening of shortness of breath or wheezing
2. No improvement after using a quick-relief inhaler
3. Shortness of breath when doing minimal physical activity
