It is because onions contains flavonoid that gives benefits to your health (anti-oxidants, anti-inflammatory, cardio protective, vasodilatory, and anti-carsinogenic), increase the life of the foods, and natural alternative to artificial additives used in foods.
Onions can be effective for delaying lipid oxidations in oil and water, foods like margarine and mayonnaise. It also inhibit the growth of microorganism that rot the food. The study also showed that yellow onions is a good source of flavonoids. The team analyzed white and yellow varieties.
