Healthy Snacks For Your Kids

Your children needs snacks to keep their energy during playing, but don’t give them unhealthy foods like potato chips, candy, or sugary drinks. Snack must be nutrient rich and low in sugar and salt. Some ideas of healthy snack to give to your toddler are:

1. Blueberries with Greek yogurt
Blueberries is a good source of antioxidant and vitamin C, and Greek yogurt is high in protein to keep your child full longer.

2. Apple slices with peanut butter
Apples contains fiber and vitamin while peanut butter is rich in protein. Both fiber and protein will keep your children full.

3. Scrambled egg or hard boiled egg
Eggs are packed with healthy protein thus it will be a healthy snacks between meal.

4. Whole grain cereal with milk
Oatmeal is rich in fiber and became a great snacks if mixed with fruit and nut butter.

5. Hummus and whole wheat pita bread
Hummus packed with healthy fats and protein.

6. Avocado mashed with banana
Avocado contains healthy fats and fiber, while banana is a good source of potassium.

7. Steamed or raw vegetables with homemade dressing
As you know, kids doesn’t like vegetables, but they are rich in nutrients. Try to make vegetables delicious by dipping them into homemade dressing that consist of yogurt, garlic, lemon, salt, pepper, and honey.

8. Smoothies
Blend yogurt, wheat germ, and favourite fruits to create a healthy yet tasty drink.

9. Whole grain toast with cream cheese
Whole grains is rich in protein while cream cheese is full of protein.

10. Guacamole
Mashed avocado with garlic, tomato, and lemon juice. They are rich of good fats and vitamins.
