Whole grains provide energy for children. The right amount of whole grains intake for kids are:

Serve your kids with oatmeal, brown rice, whole grain bread, cereal, or even quinoa.

Meat and beans provide protein for muscle development. You can make a filling of taco with chicken and fried beans or anything that they like.
Fruit and Vegetables
You can roast beets, butternut squash, and Brussels sprout to bring out the natural sugar. To increase their interest of vegetables, plant a home garden on your yard. You can also involve them making salad for dinner.
